Today when I was laying out and talking on the phone I suddenly heard my mom laughing up a storm.  As she walked back I saw she had the mail-I was thinking to myself- what could be so funny.  She goes

"No news from State but you got a love letter from the IRS"

Yes that is right...I hadn't gotten my tax return back yet...I figured it was cause I didn't send it to the right address.  I didn't really take the time to figure out what I did wrong  but bottom line-I am wanted.

Well I realize its been a long time since I posted...I am sure nobody noticed!!  I have been pretty busy though.  My brother bought a pool for our backyard since it has been so hot out.  Its pretty fun...even though its only 42'' deep.  But it sure feels good on those 100 degree days we have been having.  He's really excited about it too-even didn't go golfing a few days cause of it-that really shows he likes it!!

The house is coming really good too.  The outside is basically done and the inside is now drywalled and my parents are painting it right now.  It seems like it will be a never ending project though...and the mom is getting a little on edge!! :S

I am freaking out about school next yera.  I wish that State would get with the program and tell me if I am in or not.  They act like its not a big deal-or it wont matter if they wait till the week before school to tell me if I am in.  Its just really frusturating.

Well I am at work now...and I must say its been going very well.  It has been deadly hot in here but I havn't had much to do.  Looks like today I have a few cores to cut and then we go on shut down so I dont know what I will doing for that!!!  But yesterday I didn't have anything to do and I read over 200 pages in my book.  Its SOOO good!!  It makes me really miss the people that are away from me that I care about.

Thats all for now!!

Well itsd 6 AM...and I am already on my second cup of coffee.  I have been busy working and helping out my dad on the house.  The house is coming really well.  I dont know why but we decided to work on the roof when it was 96 degrees out and sunny.  I thought I was in hell!!  Those black shingles get pretty hot let me tell you!  But we got the sky-lights in which I think will be really cool when they are done.

I have actually been working at work too...which is soemthing I am not very used to.  I had a very eventful day yesterday.  I feel like I spent half my time on the forklift...which is fun but I am still not the best at it.  I was unloading core caps...which I am assuming cap the cores but I have no clue, I just unload them.  And I was putting them behind this pole and I go to back up and I ran into the pole so I went forward and somehow managed to get my forks stuck on the crate the caps were on....so I continued to go forward and back up for about 3 minutes having no success in going anywhere but only getting myself more stuck.  I felt kinda like austin powers...you know what part I am talking about??  Well yeah...so finally Al came and helped me get it outa there.  I also had to empty the dumpsters, but I must say I am getting better at that!!

ok, enough about work....wait...thats all I have been doing....

Ok...well I am new at this xanga stuff but I think that I have some good material for you all (probalby meaning Billy and Sarah).  Tonight was my first night shift working 6pm-6am....and not only that but I am officially on my own.  So after two weeks of intensive training with two men that are very well versed in mill working you would think I knew all the ins and outs.  I get my first call:

"Core cutting this is Brenda"

They go on to tell me what they want cut and I tell them not a problem I will have it over right away.  As I go up to the machine I notice that something looks a little wierd.  Without going into too much detail, it didnt work.  So I go through the steps, turn my radio to the maintenance chanel and tell them I need help.  Well after 10 times trying I figured it would a hopeless cause....so I had to call back the guy that called me with the order for the cores and ask him what to do.  He ended up having to come to my station and fix the machine...though it wasn't my fault-it was not the best way to start off my first day on 'my own'.

The rest of the night went with not so many bumps.  The forklift is still a challenge and I needed a little assistance. I had a lot of free time and my good friend Sarah Jo was for some reason up till 5 her time...4 my time so we got to catch up a little bit which was lovely.  But I got to do some looking on the internet and chat with a few people also.  I got my ipod hooked up in my control room which is way better than the radio so I was jammin too.  I had a few visitors...and by visitors I mean middle aged divorced men.

Ok...well here's the best part of my night.  After Sarah Jo finially decided it was time for her to go to bed I decided I should probably clean up my area.  This mean using the huge air hose and hosing down the table machie floor etc., emptying the sawdust bin, dumping the trash and my favorite-water hosing the floor.  Now the past few weeks I only got a little experience with the water hose.  My trainers always ended up doing most of it so I didn't have to worry about it.  So I begin to hose the floor and its going well.  But then there is a kink in the hose.  And I dont know if you have ever used a big hose before but these things have lots of power....all of sudden there is no pressure because of the kink...so I guess then my hand decided to loosen the grip a little bit and it wasn't ready when the water decided to come full force again and it flung outa my hands and started whipping around like an angry snake.  As it flipped in the air it was certain to soak not only my white t-shirt but also soak the general area around my crotch.  So yes...I now look like I didn't quite make it to the bathroom durning a wet t-shirt contest.  I have about 45 minutes now before the end of my shift...and that means I will have to walk by probably 30-40 people and they will all be wondering if I am potty trained.

All and All I would have to say it was a great first shift on my own....lots of learning!!!
